Four-legged King Kong: raw power in 3D origami
He moves forward, massive, ready to strike. This four-legged King Kong captures the split second before impact, when contained strength turns into spectacle. Every facet reflects muscular tension, every fold adds depth to this iconic silhouette. As you assemble the pieces, the giant gorilla comes to life—imposing, almost tangible.
Designed as a displayable 3D origami model, it naturally finds its place on a shelf, a desk, or as a centerpiece in a room. It fully belongs to the world of displayable 3D origami, created to transform paper into a true decorative object.
A technical model designed for the joy of building
The finished model features generous dimensions: 460 mm high, 280 mm wide, and 600 mm deep. Enough to create a strong visual presence while maintaining clean, readable shapes. The design is based on a precise template of 23 pages, cut into 61 pieces to be assembled step by step.
The folding alternates between mountain and valley lines, creating a smooth, engaging building rhythm. You cut, you fold, you adjust—then everything locks into place. Slowly. And that’s where the magic happens.
Color, structure, and final result
This King Kong is designed to be made using a single paper color, enhancing its sculptural feel and highlighting its volumes. All 23 pages use the same shade, letting you choose the final mood: dark and dramatic, light and contemporary, or boldly original.
Once assembled, the model makes a statement. Raw. Graphic. Timeless. A project that doesn’t just keep your hands busy—it leaves a lasting mark on your space.
